Which aftermarket shocks

My service rep informed me that my front Mag ride shocks are "leaking". As I review the posts on this topic it is clear that the OEM Mag ride shocks have a reputation for failing early on (my car has only 50,000 km's). The cost, taxes in. for the replacement of the two is C$4,100.

He then emailed me that an alternative is replacing all 4 Magnetic ride shocks with a K&R "coil over" kit for C$5100, taxes in, plus the cost of an alignment. I imagine others have dealt with the same situation so I'm wondering what people's experience has been. Do the front shocks often fail more quickly than the rears or should I expect to have the rears fail relatively soon as well. How does aftermarket shocks (K&R specifically) affect the handling of the car compared to the OEM?

Many threads on this issue.

I guess your guy must be either referring to H&R or KW.

We also recommend the following alternatives from Audi
a) R8 V10 Plus, fixed rate dampers
b) R8 GT height adjustable coilovers

Both can be retrofitted to your vehicle. We supply everything needed.
We can offer special prices on both. Please PM for details.

Best wishes.
